Brandenburg Choral Festival of London - Spring Series 2019
"High Art to Hoe-Down!"
Concert in St. StephenWalbrook,
London EC4N 8BN
on Sunday April 28th 2019 at 5pm
THE CECILIAN SINGERS have always had a reputation for variety in their programmes. Here they have excelled themselves.
High Art is represented by exquisite motets from home-grown Tallis and Byrd, and international Renaissance Man Orlandus Lassus. They also offer the only a cappella vocal music ever written by Debussy, and Edward Naylor's monumental Vox Dicentis. Rubbing shoulders with all this beautiful music are songs by Cole Porter, Vincent Youmans, Jerome Kern, plus the fabulous Over the Rainbow by Harold Arlen. The programme also features traditional songs from Britain and America, culminating in a stationary performance of a hoe-down (well, THE CECILIAN SINGERS were never noted for their ability to move!)
Tickets £23 (premium); £18 (unreserved); £5 (children) — call the Brandenburg box office on 07528 776625 or book online now!
