Welcome

Formed in 1982, the Cecilian Singers was a chamber choir numbering some twenty five mixed voices whose broad repertoire includes music from the Renaissance to the present day.

Based in Leicester, they owe their success to the quality of past and present Music Directors: Malcolm Goldring, Brian Kay and Jeremy Jackman who retired at the end of 2020.  The Cecilian Singers are now enjoying rehearsals and concerts under the leadership of their new Music Director, Benjamin Kirk, who took up the post in 2021. To read more click here on our 'About Us' page.

Sadly, after 41 years, the Cecilian Singers have taken the decision to cease performing at the end of 2023. This decision has not been taken lightly but was made necessary by falling choir and audience numbers and increasing costs. Our first concert was in October 1982 and since then, we have participated in concerts far and wide with six conductors guiding us through the music. Please come and enjoy our last concert on Friday 8th December 2023 'Christmas Glory' at St. Philip's Church, Evington LE2 1HN. We would love to see you there.
